Dearest Mother:

With rather irregular hours the last few days I have been unable to write.

While writing the other night, even tho supposed to be on day duty, at about 11:30 we received the news of Roosevelt’s death.  It did not strike me so very strange for some reason.  We certainly have a mess now and I wonder if Truman is the answer.

The weather here was quite wasn’t for a few days, and all the trees are coming into bloom, but the last few days the weather has been overcast and a little cooler.

Well about all for more and a little more later.
