Cold Weather Cookery Taught Mess Men
A new two-week course in cold weather cooking is being given by the Quartermaster Corps in Bakers and Cooks Schools at Fort George G Meade, Maryland and the Presidio of San Francisco, the War Department announces.  Mess supervisors, mess officers, mess sergeants and qualified or rated cooks will be trained in proper methods of thawing out and restoring fruits, vegetables and canned goods which at times are unavoidably frozen in transit or in storage

Command Distributes Recent Blazon Editorial
“It’s Later Than You Think,” insurance editorial appearing in a recent issue of the Blazon, was this week distributed to Army newspapers of the Eighth Service command by the Command War Bond office.
Send out at the same time was a War Bond advertisement written by 2nd Lt. Frank E Steele, 786th MP Battalion War Bond officer at Camp Maxey, Texas and former editor of the Fort Sam Houston Spearhead
